STUDENT LIFE AND LOVE RELATIONSHIPS

The uncertainty of student life can make any relationship stressful, but one of the things you'll notice when you date in college/university is that your relationships tend to be more serious.

Yes there are still people who marry their high school sweethearts, but when you date in university there's that feeling that it's serious. Perhaps because you are much more mature.
And the possibility that it can lead to engagements and married puts a very different perspective on things.

Personally, I would have to say that I would not advise long distance relationships.
They add so much pressure and stress to an already stressful life when you're a student.
Early in my first years of university, dating was really hard because I was busy and concentrating on my spiritual life. It's hard to balance a serious relationships, plus there is a lot of instability and uncertainty in student's lives these days.
Short term isn't my thing but i can see why it is for many students.

My finance and I are both medical students and we are currently in a happily and long-term relationship, which is a blessing from God. I don't think about the impact on our studies, I usually do what feels right for both of us.

Both relationships and school are two huge commitments to make and require equally significant amounts of time in order for them to grow. I believe that a healthy relationship with open communication and mutual understanding has the potential to work but it's unhealthy ones that will make student life really difficult and strenuous.

The most important thing to remember is that everyone needs and desires are very different and one has to work hard to distinguish between what they feel compelled to do and what they want themselves.

So my dear friends, if you meet someone that makes you happy and those feelings are mutual then date them. If it's the right person you will know and they'll help you through the tough times in university and make it less stressful.

I'm glad I met him because I don't find medical school tough as people have always said that is hard and stressful. Things have made easier for us because the support we give each other is infinity.

Don't feel obligated to be in the dating scene because that is what others expect of you.
Dating is not for everyone especially when you are a student, because some people may not take you serious and that can be a wasting of your school time.

You and your partner may feel like you have a lot of things in common: life, classes, professions and so forth. But have you ever thought about life outside campus? Perhaps you share little more than your educational pursuits.

One way to find out if you are both in love, examine what your usual topics of conversation are.
If you mostly talk about university and campus related things then you're just a university couples.
You can try to change your conversations and see how you are together outside the university before making any further plans.

University brought you together but careers can pull you apart, so you should know your future ahead with your partner. Things get more worse when you wasted almost your entire life dating someone in school then you separate after completion of your studies.

Do not give up your plans until you are sure your relationship is more important then anything.
